Ilona Strich

Graduated from Riga Medical Institute in 1990. In 1991 – internship in ophthalmology specialty at the Department of Eye Diseases at P. Stradins University and Riga 1st Clinical Hospital. Postgraduate training courses in laser therapy and surgery at the Institute in Moscow "EYE MICROSURGERY". Courses in plastic eye microsurgery at the Helmholtz Institute of Russia. In St. Petersburg MNTK "EYE MICROSURGERY" – courses in cataract microsurgery (cataract phacoemulsification). Participated in the European Scientific-Practical Ophthalmological Conference "Modern Technologies in Cataract and Refractive Surgery". Participated in the International Symposium on Glaucoma in Athens, Greece ("European Heidelberg Engineering Congress on Glaucoma"). In Stockholm, Switzerland, she participated in the Scandinavian Heidelberg Engineering Glaucoma and Retina Symposium, as well as the International Glaucoma Conference "Theory, Trends, Technologies". She performed retinal and optic nerve tomography studies with the Heidelberg Engineering device. She participated in the ESCRS European Scientific Congress on Cataract and Refractive Surgery in Berlin, Germany. Courses "Modern Methods in Glaucoma Diagnosis and Treatment" and "Laser Surgery and Fluorescent Angiography" at the Scientific and Pedagogical Center of the Svyatoslav Fyodorov Institute. In Geneva, Switzerland, she participated in the International Congress of the European and American Ophthalmological Association. In Copenhagen, Denmark, she participated in the International European Congress. In Nice, France – in the EGS International Congress of the European Glaucoma Community. She has been working at the EYE MICROSURGERY CENTER since 2003. Performs retinal and glaucoma patient admissions, laser photocoagulation of the anterior and posterior parts of the eye, laser therapy for glaucoma treatment (SLT and LTK), secondary cataract treatment and intravitreal injections. Regular participant of scientific-practical seminars, conferences and congresses in the Baltics and beyond. Since 2006, she has been conducting scientific-practical seminars for ophthalmologists and residents on the topic "New aspects in glaucoma diagnostics and treatment".
