Vyacheslav Kuznetsov

A surgeon trained in cataract and refractive surgery under the world-renowned ophthalmologist, academician Svyatoslav Fyodorov. A full member of the European and Russian Societies of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. Practicing since 1990, with over 100,000 surgical procedures performed in Latvia and Russia, including the correction of myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, cataracts, glaucoma, and retinal dystrophy. Graduated from the Riga Medical Institute in 1988. In 1989, completed an internship in ophthalmology at the Department of Eye Diseases, Pauls Stradiņš Clinical University Hospital. He has worked as an ophthalmic surgeon at the Ophthalmology Department of Liepāja Central Hospital, as well as at Riga 1st City Hospital and Biķernieki Hospital. In Moscow, he studied and worked at the MNTK “Eye Microsurgery” under the personal guidance of Academician Fyodorov, where he completed a course in refractive surgery, including surgical correction of myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism. He received advanced scientific and practical training on phacoemulsification of cataracts at the Fyodorov Institute and the “WetLab” training center. There, he also completed hands-on courses in refractive surgery techniques for correcting myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism. In Finland, he underwent training with Refractec, acquiring expertise in Conductive Keratoplasty (CK) technology. At the Laser Surgery Center of the MNTK “Eye Microsurgery” (Fyodorov Institute), he studied advanced refractive procedures including LASIK, PRK, and PTK using excimer lasers. In Erlangen, Germany, he completed a scientific-practical training course on excimer laser refractive surgery and wavefront technology, organized by WaveLight. He has participated in numerous European scientific and practical ophthalmology conferences, including “Modern Technologies in Cataract and Refractive Surgery” in Berlin, Germany. He also attended the international ophthalmology congress hosted by WaveLight AG on excimer laser surgery. In Munich, Germany, he took part in the international ophthalmology congress and a scientific-practical course on “New Technologies in Refractive Ophthalmic Surgery” organized by Bausch & Lomb. Additionally, he has attended European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS) congresses in Budapest (Hungary), Berlin (Germany), and an international conference in Paris (France). He holds a European patent for “Technical Features of Vision Correction Procedures.” Author of scientific publications, lecturer, and a regular participant in scientific-practical seminars, conferences, and congresses both in the Baltics and internationally.
